Dr. Annette Gonzalez holds a Psy. D. in clinical psychology. She is a bilingual licensed psychologist with a humanistic approach to individual therapy. In the past she has provided therapy to individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Gonzalez values the uniqueness and diversity of her clients and tailors her approach to meet their needs. She understands the positive impact therapy can have and encourages clients to discover their own strengths to build on as a catalyst for change.Her therapeutic approach includes aspects of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Mindfulness to create transformative changes and personal growth.

Casey Diego holds a MS degree in Mental Health Counseling. For four year, Casey has been working with individuals who have experienced major life changes and are struggling with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and brain trauma. She has found that her focus lies on assisting the patients' adjust to their new lifestyles while finding positive ways to manage and cope with daily stressors and emotions. She innately builds relationships with her patients upon meeting them that allows for a comfortable and honest space for change to occur. Casey utilizes a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral) approach that allows her patients to see change in their behaviors with each and every session. She is also trained in Trial Based Cognitive Therapy, a progressive evidence-based structured interpretation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which has proven to be effective in many cases

Elena Torres holds a MS degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is a mental health counselor and is fluent in Spanish. She understands that individuals have their own unique set of experiences; therefore she utilizes psychotherapeutic techniques tailored to specific needs. She utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and TBCT (Trial- Based Cognitive Therapy) in an empathic environment. She will work with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and utilizes your personal strengths and active participation in order to meet your goals, which will lead you to improve your quality of life.

Dr. Patricia Harteneck

M.A., Ph.D.

As a New York State and Argentina licensed Psychologist, Dr. Harteneck has over 20 years of experience providing solution-focused therapy to adults, adolescents, couples, and families. Her specialties include assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, and suicidality. She has experience providing crisis intervention in multiple psychiatric settings and has a deep understanding of medical necessity criteria, behavioral symptom-focused treatment planning, and multidisciplinary coordination of care. Dr. Harteneck employs an integrative approach to therapy, combining cognitive behavioral techniques with psychodynamic insight. In addition to working at JM Da Silva Psychological Services, Dr. Harteneck is a senior psychologist at the Seleni Institute. She also supervises clinicians at the Center for Cognition and Communication and clinical interns and post-doctoral fellows at Lenox Hill Hospital. She is able to conduct therapy in English, Spanish, French, and German.

Dr. Seferin Rakipi

LMSW., Psy D.

Seferin Rakipi loves what he does and derives sense of deep meaning helping his clients work through issues and realize their potentials. He has over 30 years of clinical work and holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and master’s degree in Social Work. Dr. Rakipi uses an eclectic treatment approach, including evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy as well as other treatment models such as Gestalt Psychology and Rogerian Client Centered therapy to create an appropriate emotional fit between a theoretical approach and clients’ needs. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Rakipi also has expertise in psychological testing and has served as adjunct professor at New York University and abroad. In addition to English, I also speak Albanian and Italian languages.

Dr. Jennifer Santos

MS, Ph.D.

Jennifer Santos holds an MS degree in Mental Health Counseling and Ph.D in Counseling Psychology. She is a bilingual psychologist and specializes in applying treatment through the lens of Critical Race Theory. Dr. Santos’ integrative and holistic approach to psychotherapy encompasses the use of narrative storytelling as a form of expression for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) when discussing their individual experiences within their communities. She has experience working with children, adolescents, families, couples and individuals that have experienced various forms of trauma. She utilizes strategies based on the individual’s needs while incorporating several evidence based treatment models. These include cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. Dr. Santos has experience in outpatient treatment, crisis response, partial care programs, academic environments, as well as in community-based therapeutic programs.

Cristiane Passarela

Cristiane Passarela is an experienced Mental Health Counselor who earned her Master's Degree from Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), one of of the most prestigious universities of South America in regards to Psychiatry and Mental Health. Also, she worked for more than 9 years as a Licensed Psychologist in Brazil. Cristiane provides CBT and TBCT, evidence-based approaches that is largely applied to a variety of clients from different backgrounds. She has been working primarily with adolescents, adults and couples.She has extensive experience with Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Stress Management, Anger Management and Parenting Skills. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Marietta Guido

Marietta is a trained bilingual psychotherapist/psychoanalyst with 23 years of experience working with a variety of patients suffering from various mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Trained in ACT model (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy); also CBT. She works with patients in addressing clinical issues related to psychological pain as well as those who have been emotionally impacted by a physical injury, such as accidents, falls, car or pedestrian accidents, and head trauma. Marietta also treats those suffering from PTSD and the psychological effects of traumatic brain injury due to accidents. As an international bilingual psychotherapist with experience living in another country, an area of particular interest for her is working with individuals from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds.  .

Dr. Julio Martinez-Rivera

Ph.D

Dr. Julio Martínez-Rivera was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Dr. Martínez completed a bachelor degree in psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedra’s Campus. Subsequently, completed his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology (Ph.D.) at Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus. Dr. Martínez has gained clinical experienced in various scenarios, as part of his doctoral trainings worked with: children, adolescents, adults and psychiatric patients. Dr. Martínez completed his Post-doctoral training at Manhattan Psychiatric Center located at Randall’s Island, New York. Dr. Martínez provided clinical services at Manhattan Psychiatric Center, he served for five years as a psychotherapist for the Hispanic Unit and also as a Clinical supervisor for students. In addition, Dr. Martínez gained further experience by working as a psychotherapist during several years at Metropolitan Center for Mental Health. Dr. Martínez trainings have mostly focused on working with patient experiencing symptoms of: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, psychiatric conditions and with workers who have suffered work-related injuries. As part of his trainings, Doctor Martinez’s has gained experience on therapies such as: Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT) and the Social Constructionist and postmodern approaches.

It can be a challenge to find peace, serenity and happiness in the fast-paced world in which we live in.   This is especially true if you live in the New York City Metro and are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression or trauma. 

I am a licensed board-certified clinical psychologist, and I have over 10 years of experience treating and assessing adults with anxiety, depression, and trauma from diverse backgrounds.  I prefer an eclectic approach to psychotherapy, and I have been trained in and utilize primarily psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques.  I have found that psychotherapy is most effective when it is customized for the individual.  I look forward to working with and helping you!

Lindsay Allen holds a Master of Social Work degree from University of North Carolina – Wilmington. She has over 6 years of experience in social work, working with adolescents and families. Her experience includes the public/charter school arena, crisis prevention and intervention, as well as clinical social work. Her approach has always been rooted in building affirming, safe relationships with clients and providing a warm and accepting setting for them to share about their experiences. She strongly values the space that therapy provides to individuals and works from a strengths-based perspective to problem solve with clients and collaborate about possible solutions.

Daniela Andrade

Daniela Andrade holds a degree in Clinical Social Work from the State University of New York in Albany and has experience treating different emotional challenges and addictions in adults. She utilizes different treatment modalities tailored to each individual, including psychotherapy, CBT, ACT, MI, DBT and Yoga-informed therapeutic techniques to assist clients return to a level of function they are comfortable with. She has experience treating eating disorders and believes in the efficacy of movement to help organize the mind, as well as nutrition in the treatment of different emotional and physical challenges. 

When not at JM Da Silva, she holds a full time position in a Primary Care Clinic integrating the treatment of mental health in that medical setting by assisting those with physical and mental illness recover well. Daniela can provide therapy in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
